. Lustrous steel brown and
light chocolate with hints of very faded mint color showing in
protected areas on both sides. Sharply struck and quite attrac-
tive. The only notable mark is a light vertical scratch left of star
8. EDS, die state a, showing numerous fine die lines in the field
around ONE CENT.

. Glossy light to medium
chocolate with darker steel toning on the obverse devices. Sat-
iny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas on both
sides. The only marks are a tiny nick in the field before the brow
lock and an even smaller nick under the left end of the base of
the E in ONE. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The die lines at
ONE CENT are crisp.

1842 N-8 R1 Large Date NGC graded MS61 Brown
. Very
attractive glossy medium chocolate brown with satiny mint frost
in protected areas. The only defect is a small spot of darker ton-
ing at the top of the 2 in the date. LDS, die state b. The die lines
at ONE CENT are gone and the point from the right top of the N
in CENT is short.
Our grade is AU50+, close to AU55.

. Lus-
trous steel brown and light chocolate with a faint hint of slightly
darker chocolate brown toning on the neck. A few tiny streaks
of dark olive toning between the end of the wreath stem and
the adjacent A are the only notable marks. Sharply struck E-
MDS, die state b. The myriad die lines behind the main and
inner curl are strong and the fine die lines at the throat are
clear.
Our grade is MS60,
tied for CC#7 in the Grellman cen-
sus. The attribution is shown on the PCGS label.

protected areas. Essentially flawless, just a few microscopic
ticks from perfect. E-MDS, die state a. The lump under the 1
and the points from ONE CENT are all clear.

the planchet is smooth and choice. Frosty steel and chocolate

the half over the U is clearly visible). The short points from ON
in ONE are visible.
