1804 C-8 R1 Spiked Chin PCGS graded AU55
. Frosty steel
and chocolate brown with peeps of very faded mint color show-
ing in protected areas near the F in HALF. No roughness, verdi-
gris, or notable contact marks. EDS, Manley state 1.0, with a
light die crack through the top of LIBERTY. The "Spike" from the
chin is obvious.
Our grade is EF45.
The Spiked Chin feature is
noted on the PCGS label.

1804 C-8 R1 Spiked Chin F15
. Five points sharper but there
are a few faint hairline scratches on the obverse, strongest in
the field before the neck. Attractive glossy medium chocolate
brown and steel. LDS, Manley state 6.0. A raised retained cud
break connects LIBE to the rim above. The "Spiked Chin" fea-
ture is clear. A neat die state that comes with a great prove-
nance.

Trio of Half Cents, 1804 & 1805
. Includes 1804 C-8 R1
Spiked Chin LDS Manley 5.0 F15+ sharpness net F12+ for light
marks, 1804 C-10 R1 LDS Manley 3.0 struck slightly off center
to K-12 with the reverse rotated 30 degrees CW F12 net VG10
for minor marks, and 1805 C-4 R2- Large 5 with Stems EDS
Manley 1.0 VF20 net F15 for recoloring. All are glossy and
attractive in spite of minor defects. Lot of 3 coins.

. Frosty steel and chocolate
brown. Smooth and attractive showing only trivial microscopic
contact marks, none notable. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0. The die
crack at IBER is very light.
Our grade is VF35+.

1804 C-9 R2 VF30
. Slightly sharper but there is a bit of shal-
low crud in the field along the profile of the portrait and there
are a few faint pin scratches close below HALF and CENT. None
of these defects is visible without the aid of a glass and the eye
appeal of this piece is excellent. Glossy medium brown and
chocolate with bluish steel overtones on the reverse. LDS, Man-
ley state 5.0, with a cud break connecting RTY to the rim and a
die crack from the 4 through the bust.

1804 C-11 R2 Plain 4 with Stems VF30
. Glossy light to
medium chocolate brown with lighter golden brown in protected
areas. No spots, stains, or roughness, only light contact marks
scattered over both sides, none notable. Nicely struck E-MDS,
Manley state 1.0 late. The bow of the wreath ribbon is just
starting to show some weakness in the strike. A decent example
of this "Redbook" variety.

1804 C-13 R1 Plain 4 without Stems PCGS graded XF45
.
Frosty steel and olive brown with hints of golden light steel
brown faded down from mint color in protected areas on the
reverse. Only microscopic marks of no significance. Nicely
struck MDS, Manley state 2.0, with dentils showing around at
least half of the reverse.
Our grade is VF35.
The Plain 4 & No
Stems features are noted on the PCGS label.
