1804 C-6 R2 Spiked Chin VF20
. Double Struck over Obverse
Brockage. Slightly sharper but lightly cleaned and nicely retoned
glossy light olive and tan blending to light chocolate brown.
Smooth and attractive showing only minor contact marks,
including a tiny rim nick over the A in STATES. Double struck.
The first strike was an obverse brockage that was centered on
the planchet. The second strike was centered on the planchet
as well, but it was rotated about 5 degrees CCW relative to the
first impression on the obverse. The doubling is clearly visible
on the date and most of the portrait. In addition there is clear
obverse brockage undertype showing on the reverse including
an incuse 04 from the date at S-O and parts of LIBERTY at the
fraction and ICA. This is a neat mint error. EDS, Manley state
1.0. The "Spiked Chin" feature is obvious.

. A few points sharper but
recolored a mostly glossy dark steel and chocolate brown.

areas on the obverse. The surfaces are reasonably smooth

verdigris or marks. Extremely rare LDS, Manley state 7.2,
with a strong cud break at OF AMERI plus a die crack
