NGC graded AU-55
. Frosty medium brown
and light chocolate. Excellent eye appeal; just minor contact
marks from choice. The notable marks are a dull rim nick over
the E in STATES and a shallow dent on the top of the T in CENT.
EDS, die state a. The vertical die polishing lines above the C in
CENT are sharp.
Our grade is XF40+, very close to EF45
,
and CC#7 in the Grellman census.

underlying very faded golden mint color showing through in
protected areas. No marks, but the obverse is coated with a
very thin layer of "Care" or some similar protectant (which could
be removed easily). M-LDS, die state e, with a die crack from
the rim down to the left point of star 8 and a sharp die line up
from the upper point of star 4.

. Glossy light silvery gray fading to darker gray in pro-
tected areas. No marks or other defects, only light wear on the
devices. Variety with obverse die 5 mated with reverse die 4. A
very popular Hard Times Token listed on page 400 in the "Red-
book."
