Details, Cleaning
. Attractive frosty chocolate brown and steel
with traces of lighter reddish brown toning in protected areas
on the reverse. This cent is essentially flawless except for the
old cleaning and the eye appeal is excellent. MDS.

1810 S-285 R2 Turban Head VG10
. Double struck with
an offset between strikes of at least a half millimeter. Sharp
doubling shows on both sides, clearest along the entire pro-
file of Ms Liberty. Glossy chocolate brown with lighter
brown toning on the highpoints. The surfaces are decent
but there are some light contact marks, mostly in the field
before the portrait. MDS.

1812 S-291 R2 Turban Head VF20
. Sharpness EF40 but
covered with uniform microscopic roughness and there is a
shallow but obvious planchet lamination extending from the
temple into the field before the chin. The only notable sign of
contact is a small, light rim bruise at star 2. Frosty very dark
steel. MDS. Struck very slightly off center to K-7.

. Glossy medium chocolate brown and
olive. The sharpness is slightly better but there are too many
light contact marks for the higher grade, including a tiny rim
bruise at star 4. MDS. The die crack through the base of the
date is strong.

. Sharpness VG8,
even stronger on the reverse, but both sides are covered
with uniform moderate granularity. No verdigris, and the
only mark is a dull dent at the bottom of the wreath. The
date is weak thanks to an uneven strike but it remains
readable. Slightly glossy dark steel brown and chocolate.
Extremely rare EDS, before the "Mouse" break on top of the
head. Struck with the reverse die misaligned to K-1.

. Lustrous frosty chocolate brown and
steel with lighter golden steel brown toning faded down from
mint color in protected areas, especially on the reverse. This
cent offers excellent eye appeal. The only notable defect is a
spot of extremely faint roughness near the dentils right of the
date. Sharply struck MDS with fine die rust covering the por-
trait. The undertype 19 remains clearly visible on both digits. A
premium example of this popular overdate variety.
Our grade
is MS60+
. The overdate feature is noted on the NGC label.

. The large cents grade Good to VF
with an average grade of Fine; the 1893 Columbian Commemo-
