F15
. Glossy medium chocolate brown with lighter brown toning
on the devices. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is
quite nice for the grade. The notable defects are a small plan-
chet void at the bottom of the last S in BUSINESS, a very shal-
low planchet void from the right side of the sundial to the first 7
in the date, and a nick hidden in the sun rays over the left side
of the sundial. A minor planchet clip affects the rim under BUS
in BUSINESS, as struck. Rare LDS with several fine die cracks on
the obverse and clear die clashmarks inside ring #2. Weight
151.4 grains. Listed on page 88 in the "Redbook."

1787 Fugio Cent Newman 8-X Rarity-3 VF25
. A STATES
UNITED variety. Slightly sharper but lightly cleaned and retoned
glossy tan and golden light brown. No corrosion, verdigris, or
planchet flaws. The only marks are a very light rim bruise left of
the sun and a small nick on the D in UNITED. The date is bold
and the legends are clear except for a few letters of YOUR
BUSINESS thanks to a massive die crack from the base of the
sundial to the rim under the E in BUSINESS. A neat die state.
This variety was represented by 189 of the 1641 Fugio Cents
found in the Bank of New York Hoard. Weight 166.2 grains.
Listed on page 87 in the "Redbook."
