(1785) Bar Cent Breen-1145 W-8520 Rarity-4 PCGS

CAC APPROVED
. Slightly glossy medium
steel brown and light chocolate with microscopic specks of
darker toning scattered over both sides. No notable marks
or other defects, only trivial ticks of no significance. Only a
light touch of friction on the highpoints from mint state.
Sharply struck slightly off center to K-4.5. A very nice
example of this popular colonial issue that was circulating
in New York circa 1785. Listed on pages 73 & 74 in the
"Redbook."

with Pointed Rays Crosby 5-E rarity-3 nice VG10, and 1788 Ver-
mont Mailed Bust Right Ryder-27 rarity-1 F12 sharpness net
VG8 for fine granularity on the obverse. Both have a readable
date. Lot of 2 coins.

(1792-94) Kentucky Halfpenny with Engrailed Edge
Breen-1162 Rarity-5+ VF25
. Ten points sharper but the
reverse (pyramid side) is covered with a thin coat of lacquer or
some similar substance. In addition there is some crud caked
around the devices beneath the coating. The obverse (scroll
side) is smooth and choice. Glossy dark chocolate brown. The
engrailed edge feature is complete and strong (actually the
edge is diagonally reeded, not engrailed, but most guides refer
to it as engrailed). Weight 148.0 grains; diameter 30.0 millime-
ters (plain edge examples are normally under 29.0mm in diam-
eter). A tough variant with the engrailed edge. Listed on page
75 in the "Redbook."

. Medium chocolate brown with lighter brown toning in
protected areas on both sides. No defects, just a touch of fric-
tion on the highest points of the devices. Nicely struck on a
defect-free planchet. Listed on page 76 in the "Redbook."

. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with a splash
of darker reddish olive brown toning on the G in WASHINGTON.
Otherwise the color and surfaces are choice. Struck with the
reverse rotated 15 degrees CW.

. Choice
glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth and essen-
tially flawless except for the quality of the strike. The central
details are sharper than the assigned grade but the strike is soft
near the borders. Some of the letters in the legend and the 83
in the date are weak. Listed on page 80 in the "Redbook."

tary Bust Breen-1201 VF30
. Variety with an Engrailed Edge.
Attractive glossy medium chocolate brown. Sharply struck and
very nice for the grade; just a few trivial nicks from flawless.
