. Cleaning.
Popular key date, 100,000 minted. The embryonic collector
community in the 1940s and 1950s soon awakened to the
potential of this elusive silver dollar. What separates it from
others is that it is an attractive AU representative of this
low-mintage S-mint delivery; despite the light cleaning,
both sides possess nice silver-gray color in all areas with
simply outstanding surface preservation that is free from
heavy marks, we note only a few little surface contacts with
other coins in circulation; also free of spotting and other
detriments. To say this is a pleasing specimen only does it
the justice it deserves. All the central highpoints are well
defined. All the hair waves display naturally with light wear
above the ear consistent with About Uncirculated grade.
Problem-free rims, we should also add, and a ripe opportu-
nity for a Silver Dollar buyer hoping for just the right coin.

PCGS graded VF-35.
CAC Approved
. Popular
key date. Only 100,000 struck. A well struck example of this
rarity with generally choice rims and only light field wear
from circulation, virtually no marks. Indeed, the surface on
this handsome VF35 is much, much nicer than competing
coins in similar grade. The greater part of 1893-S Dollars
are thought to have gone into circulation at the time of
issue. That makes this the rarest Morgan Dollar in high
grades, with the opportunity to acquire an attractive VF35
representative worth considering by Silver Dollar collectors
wishing to complete their sets. (
