NGC graded Proof 68 Cameo
. Fully white Gem
Proof Cameo. Only 930 struck. We find it easier said than
done for us to recall a stronger visual impact, or a more
starkly brilliant high contrast cameo Proof Morgan dollar of
this date. Both sides are needle-sharp and well struck on
even on the trickiest hair and eagle breast feather details of
the design where uneven strikes can be found (even on the
Proofs). Magnificently frosted, the devices rise high above
the black pool glassy fields. We can find no overt hairlines
and certainly no marks on this superb specimen. The coin
ranks among the few fully brilliant, untoned 1885 Dollars,
to round out the list of its attributes. Worthy of a being a
centerpiece in any Superb Gem Proof Morgan Dollar date
set.
Pop 3; 1 finer in 69 Star
