mostly untoned. Housed Green Old Holder. A rollicking Gem BU
whose luster is fresh, bright white, and displays admirable
intensity for the issue. Collectors, when first coming across a
Carson City Mint dollar often gasp at the experience since these
are routinely gorgeous lookiing when Mint fresh. The stamping
press at this mint could strike an average of 112,000 silver dol-
lars per month, according to the Randy Goe book on Carson
City Mint. Since only 296,000 1881-CC dollars were made, this
would have required approximately two and one-half months of
