.

PCGS graded MS-64 PQ.

CAC APPROVED

. A nice

frosty coin. Only 25,000 examples are estimated to have sur-

vived and this is one of the most plentiful issues. However, not

many are found this nice! A delight for the specialist! (

. Merely 3000 minted. An

attractive coin exhibiting attractive semi-reflective surfaces

which are highlighted nicely by the vibrant golden toning

with mint fresh frost on the devices and clean surfaces sur-

rounding.

. Housed in an Old Green Holder.

Rich golden toning with reflective fields. Only 3,000 minted and

not that many survived. Here is a pleasing mint state coin that

offers great surfaces and was graded long ago. (

PCGS graded Proof 64

. Lovely light golden ton-

ing. Only 36 struck in proof of which perhaps 25 to 30 exist

today. This is one of the finer examples with clasic orange

peel texture in the fields and ample frost on the devices.

The Indian headdress on Liberty is a classic design by

famed mint engraver James B. Longacre which is paired

with the open agricultural wreath on the reverse. However,

the $3 denomination was finding little acceptance by 1880

so the mintage in Proofs was indeed quite tiny. Survivors

are sparse and demand far exceeds the number available.

An important example that should not be overlooked by

specialists.

PCGS graded Proof 64 Deep Cameo PQ.

CAC

APPROVED

. This is a tough date with only 54 pieces

minted, of which perhaps 50 survive. The majority of the

known coins offer the regular contrast without the Cameo

or Deep Cameo depth of contrast. Of the known proofs

listed in the PCGS

Population Report

only five coins have

the depth of contrast found here, and when the deep mir-

ror fields are present these gold coins show exceptional eye

appeal. The devices are all bathed in mint frost while the

fields show amazing reflectivity. The effect of the Deep

Cameo contrast is simply dazzling and mesmurising. Add to

this the true rarity of this date and you have a totally win-

ning combination. Don' t miss this opportunity if you have

been seeking a high end coin.
