Fully white gem example. Only 154 minted and this is one
of the finest seen of the Proofs. The Mint changed the pro-
cess for preparing the dies to make Proofs in 1902, reduc-
ing the depth of frost on the devices and producing more of
an all mirror effect for the entire coin. This is an example of
that revision, and these are rare in all grades, especially so
in Gem. Appealing and important!

PCGS graded Proof 64
. A gorgeous brilliant yel-
low gold satin finish matte proof example. Free from spots
and any decernible marks. In our opinion a
Premium
Quality
example for the given grade. Only 250 proofs
struck and an estimated 73 examples exist, and it would
appear that perhaps some these proofs were later melted
as unsold as the survival rate is much lower than normally
encountered for a 20th Century proof issue. Regardless of
the number known, this is an exceptionally beautiful exam-
ple!
