. The popular Morgan

Dollar Liberty Head on a quarter denomination. Fully white

and with boldly mirrored fields contrasting against the

frosty white devices. The obverse design incorporates a

reduced size but exact head from the Morgan silver dollar,

with the date below and E PLURIBUS UNUM surrounding

with 13 stars placed between the last two words. For the

reverse a standing eagle clutches an olive branch in his

right claw, three arrows in his left. Legends include UNITED

STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR surrounding

with a much smaller sized letter punch used for IN GOD WE

TRUST in the lower fields besides the eagle. Only a single

coin graded finer in the Cameo contrast category and a rare

seen but quite popular issue with collectors. (

PCGS graded AU Details, Cleaning.

Lightly

toned. Only 1,000 struck and this is a key date issue that is

seldom offered and most were cleaned long ago. The

Dahlonega Mint issued coins in somewhat limited numbers

from 1838 until the Civil War broke out in 1861, so these

were the last coins struck during that turbulent time.

Should be graded AU-50 in our opinion.
