Style Holder. This is the first year of issue of this denomination,

which continued in production through 1889. Always popular for

the unusal stated value of $3, but this was based on a sheet of

3 cent stamps, which could be purchased 100 stamps at a time

for $3 of course. Satiny luster in the fields and attractive for the

grade assigned. (
