form shields around garter star. Beautifully toned mint state, the
Halfcrown is a particularly scarce denomination in this pattern
series. Obverse has shades of grey and blue, the reverse has an
appealing golden-green tone.

by Matthew Young. Obverse exquisitely detailed draped and cui-
rassed bust of George III left, no signature below, but M in
relief on truncation. Reverse, struck en medaille features four
crowned cruciform shields, plumes in angles. Edge plain. Evi-
dence of usual die rust marks on obverse, beautifully toned in
shades of dark gold and aquamarine. One of Britain' s most
iconic patterns.
