Group of 80 Cents, 1850-1853, grading VG to F-VF

. Aver-

age grade is VG-Fine. Some are attributed to Newcomb die vari-

ety. Many are sharper with minor defects but all have a clear

date. Lot of 80 coins.

1851 N-6 R1 MS60+

. Lustrous medium steel brown and light

chocolate with generous traces of faded mint red remaining on

both sides. Great eye appeal for the grade showing only a few

trivial marks, the notable ones being a speck of darker toning

on the neck near the throat and a tiny rim nick over the first S in

STATES. M-LDS, die state c. The repunching on the 1' s in the

date is gone but the lines up from the top of the head under

star 6 are visible.

. Glossy medium brown and light choco-

late. Smooth and attractive for the grade. The only notable

marks are a few nicks around stars 3 & 4. Extremely rare termi-

nal die state (e) with a clearly defined rim cud break under the

wreath ribbon. One of a dozen examples known with the cud

break.

. Sharpness VF30 or slightly better but

there are four small cuts on the obverse rim. Otherwise this

piece is smooth and attractive. Glossy light chocolate brown.

Extremely rare TDS, die state e, with a clear rim cud break

under the wreath ribbon. Only a dozen are know with this rim

cud.

. An attractive lustrous mint state cent

but there is a faint abrasion well hidden on the coronet over BE

in LIBERTY. Otherwise this cent is essentially flawless. Lustrous

medium brown and light chocolate. LDS, die state d (Newcomb'

MDS (b early) MS60 net AU58 for a planchet flake on the brow

(as struck). An attractive group. Lot of 3 coins.

1852 N-11 R1 NGC graded MS64 Brown,

CAC

APPROVED

. Lustrous olive and chocolate brown with over-

tones of bluish steel and hints of faded mint color peeking

through on the obverse. Great luster and eye appeal. The only

notable mark is a tiny planchet void on the rim off the end of

the wreath ribbon, as struck. M-LDS, die state d late, with a

clear die crack on the rim over TES-O that outlines where a rim

cud is forming.

Our grade is MS62

. Housed in an older gen-

eration NGC slab.

. Lustrous light bluish

steel brown and olive. Frosty and attractive. The only notable

marks are a tiny planchet chip between stars 12 & 13 (as

struck) and a spot of fine carbon on the berry right of the E in

ONE. MDS, die state b. The repunching on the 18 is visible.
