NGC graded Proof 66+ Star Cameo
. One of the
most inspiring Gem proof 1880 Morgan dollars that this cat-
aloger has handled in recent auctions. This glittering Gem
is decorated at the borders with russet-red and gunmetal-
blue toning, the centers are glowing ice-white. The toning
is somewhat more pronounced on the obverse. A full strike
is also noted throughout, the devices are thickly frosted in
texture. Deeply mirrored in the fields, and nicely contrast in
finish, a lack of even trivial detractions further enhances
already strong eye appeal.

Wonderfully
toned on both sides featuring deep blue at the outermost
regions changing to russet-brown, deep honey-gold, sunset-
red, then dove-gray at the centers. Both the cheek and fields
are exceptionally smooth, and essentially mark-free. An appeal-
ing Gem for the collector of beautiful color.
