Laureate Bust, the only style of portrait used on this denomination. A beautiful specimen having a sharp

portrait, especially choice surfaces, and reddish gold toning.

especially rich bluish gray patina.

William & Mary, Stuart King & Queen, 1688-1694

QVARTO edge. Conjoined Busts (side by side) facing right; reverse, the elaborate Royal Shield deco-

rated with a seashell on either side, a style limited in use to this reign and one of the most beautiful of

all reverses in the 5-guinea series. An exceptionally well-preserved specimen with a bold strike on both

sides as well as lovely reddish gold toning.
