A lovely example of the variety showing short, broad letters, on a broad but typically irregularly shaped

flan, choice surfaces.

S-1754, N-1381/1, stars in angles of reverse motif. PCGS-graded MS62.

SILVER GROAT (1413-1422)

Henry V, Lancastrian King, 1413-1422

London mint, “frowning bust”. Mullet on right (king’s left) shoulder. A little soft on the king’s face but

perfectly centered and sharp in all other details, a bold Long cross across the reverse, legends almost

complete, with ideal golden gray patina.

London mint. Annulet issue of 1422-1427. A choice specimen, struck on a broad flan without any dou-

bling of images, with a bold portrait of the king and virtually perfect legends, and lovely gold toning.
