1866. With Motto

.

PCGS graded Proof 67 Cameo

. Wonderful blue toning on both sides that brightens toward the center. The cameo

contrast adds to eye appeal and when this degree of colorful toning is present, the combination is out of this world. Topping it off is the

superb gem quality, which places this lovely coin at the pinnacle of preservation and eye appeal. Probably the Finest Known. Only 725 minted.

1870-CC

.

PCGS graded VF-35

. Lightly toned with silver

gray on both sides, perfectly matched and balanced. A very

popular CC Mint half dollar which is seldom found in such a

lofty grade, as most fall well short of the quality seen here.

The fields and devices show a few minor nicks from circula-

tion but the eye appeal is strong, especially for a Carson

City coin of this first year of issue. Always in enormous col-

lector demand! (

PCGS graded AU-50

. This is a key date issue,

and while not quite as rare as the 1870-CC, this one

deserves considerable respect in its own right. High grade

examples like this are few and far between. Highly collect-

ible! Well struck and evenly toned on both sides.
