NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo
. Outstanding
black-on-white surfaces are a sight to behold on this Proof
69 Ultra Cameo Franklin half. Even close examination with
magnification fails to reveal any distractions. In his Com-
plete Guide to Franklin Half Dollars, Rick Tomaska, writing
about Proof 67-68 NGC Ultra Cameo and PCGS Deep
Cameo 1962 Franklins, says: "Flawless or near-flawless
1962 proof Franklins, with extremely heavy snow-white
frost on both obverse and reverse are very elusive coins."
This nearly perfect piece will surely draw special attention
from Franklin proof collectors.
Pop 26; none finer at
NGC. Tied for the finest graded at both services.
Estimated Value ........................................ $4,000 - 4,500

1964. Heavily Accented Hair
.
NGC graded Proof 68
Ultra Cameo
. The 1964 "Accented Hair" variety is actually
a subtype of the initial Kennedy half dollar issue of 1964.
This elusive variety, with the bold part in President Ken-
nedy's hair, is seldom found with black-and-white Ultra
Cameo contrast as seen here. This Superb Gem is fully bril-
liant and untoned throughout.
Pop 10; 2 finer in 69.
Estimated Value ...................................... $9,000 - 10,000
