.

PCGS graded MS-61

. Lightly toned with

rich orange-gold to copper tints on both sides. The strike is

sharp on Liberty' s curls and the surrounding stars, also on

the eagle. Both dies show evidence of clashing together

without a planchet between them, leaving their reverse

impressions on each other ever so lightly. Traces of die rust

are seen on the obverse, particularly around the drapery

and on Liberty' s neck. An impressive example of this

scarce coin. Lovely golden toning.

. Mostly untoned. This is tough

issue to find this nice and is even more challenging to locate

any finer. Most of the 200 or so known fall into the VF or XF

grades while the finest are in the mid AU range to various Mint

State grades. Always popular as these branch mint issues tend

to be scarce and a collection of various dates from this Mint

would certainly make for a handsome display. Only 90,629

struck.
