. Bronze, 38 mm. This so-called dol-

lar is a replica of the three-inch official medal of the event.

Struck by Metallic Art Co., but the issuer and number struck are

not known. A nice quality art piece comparing with other so-

called dollars. A scratch noticeable from 3:30 through the cheek

of the portrait.

Aluminum. Listed in the Red Book.

Rural Rehabilitation Corp. Issued by the U.S. goverment in 1935

for use by those Americans relocated to Alaska as part of the

Matanuska Valley Colonization Project as federal aid. They were

called "Bingles" and were redemable only at the ARRC stores.

They were in use for only about 6 months (1935-6) after which

they were redeemed for regular US coinage. The minor denom-

inations, such as this 10-cent piece, were struck in aluminum

while the larger denomination $5 and $10 were struck in brass.

. Copper, 31 mm. Technically an imita-

tion of hard time tokens in the style and size, but struck way

later, even is included in the Rulau book. The C. D. Peacock

Jeweler, founded in 1837 as indicated on the token, is one of

the first jewelry shops opened in Chicago. The company is still

in business until today. A beautiful token with hints of steel blue

colors.
