.
NGC graded
AU Details, Mount Removed.
B-34, 38 mm. Sold as a lot of 2
pieces, including the slabed medal and the removed ribbon and
hangers. The original design of this medal was ordered by the
Harrison inauguration committee from Friederich Company of
Washington, D.C. for badges to be used in the celebration. Only
1,600 pieces were struck with ribbons for the usage of the com-
mittee. However, Friederich Company made couple variant ver-
sions for sale to the public during the celebration. This medal,
identified with added inscriptions "Geo. Washington First Presi-
dent of the U.S." was made for sale in the celebration of New
York City. Due to the extraordinary popularity of these medals,
Friederich Company later applied for a patent on this design.

1889 Harrison and Morton inaugural badge with original
ribbon
.
The medal on the badge is in AU condition.
The
original design of this medal was ordered by the Harrison inau-
guration committee from Friederich Company of Washington,
D.C. for usage during the celebration. Only 1,600 pieces were
struck with ribbons for the committee. However, Friederich
Company made couple variant versions for sale to the public
during the celebration. This piece is probably not among the
original 1,600 issues made for the committee, but a commemo-
rative version sold to the public in Washington, D.C. during the
celebration. Due to the extraordinary popularity of these badges
and medals, Friederich Company later applied for a patent on
this design.

1897 McKinley inaugural badge
.
The medal is in UNC
condition.
Missing the top hanger and the ribbon. About only
3,000 of these badges were issued to committee members who
performed duty during the celebration. Even though there was
a very strong demand from the public, and the 1897 medal
were very well designed with a great commercial potential, the
committee didn't make it a commemorative product as some
previous inaugural issues did.
Estimated Value .......................................................$400-UP
