1864. Small Motto
.
Coin will grade About Good,
Cleaned.
The smaller lettering on the ribbon is clearly visible
on this well worn piece. The color is a bit unnatural, so it may
have been cleaned at one time. A diagonal scratch is noted near
the center of the reverse.
Estimated Value ................................................... $100 - 110

An abundant amount of original mint red remains on this well

reverse serve to limit the grade.

of original medium orange luster shines forth on the reverse as
the coin rotates under a light. A sharply struck and originally
preserved example.

Details, Cleaning.
Each side displays a somewhat mottled
copper-tan appearance that is slightly subdued due to the
stated cleaning. All devices are well struck. This proof 1864
Large Motto two cent piece is from the first year of issue and is
an ideal candidate for an affordable type set. (

NGC graded AU Details, Improperly Cleaned.
Lightly circulated with several parallel marks on Liberty's cheek,
the remaining design details seem fully appropriate for a grade
of AU. This scarce coin has a somewhat washed-out appearance
from an improper cleaning at some point in the past.
