Isfahan mint, citing the ‘Abbasid caliph al-Mustarshid. Tughril’s Great Seljuq overlord Mu’izz al-Din

Sanjar is given the title al-sultan al-’azam (“supreme sultan”). Tughril is named Rukn al-Dunya wa al-

Din Abu Talib and cited with lesser title al-sultan al-mu’azzam (“great sultan”). Extremely rare. One of

only two coins known for Tughril II from Isfahan.
