1937 GOLD PROOF SET

George VI, House of Windsor King 1936-1952, S-PS15.

George VI, House of Windsor King, 1936-1952, Proof gold set 1937, brilliant finish, plain edges.

S-PS15. A complete set of 4 pieces, graded by PCGS as follows: 5-Pounds (S-4074) PR66 Deep Cameo,

2-Pounds (S-4075) PR66 Cameo, Sovereign (S-4076) PR66, and Half-Sovereign (S-4077) PR66 Cam-

eo. Each coin possesses a slightly different degree of cameo contrast between the portrait and fields, as is

typical of original sets. This is an exceptionally fine, matched set. Gold coins were issued only as Proofs

for collectors during this reign, which began during the worldwide financial depression. Some were

spent; many were poorly stored but not these!
