on both sides, and outstanding surface quality. Seldom found

this nice and virtually unobtainable appreciably finer. A prize for

the date collector who needs an example of an 1875 nickel.

PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo

. Well struck and

untoned. Only 510 struck. The fields are boldly reflective

while the devices are bathed in mint frost, which helps to

create the Cameo effect noted here. Visually appealing and

a key date that is lacking from most advanced collections,

especially when found in PR-66!

Pop 43; 12 finer, 3 in

66+, 9 in 67.

(

PCGS # 83831

Estimated Value ........................................ $5,000 - 5,500

.

PCGS graded AU-58

. Only 16,000 minted of which

merely 100 examples are estimated to have survived. Mostly

untoned with some minor handling marks. This is the key to the

circlation strikes in the Shield nickel series, and a coin which is

sought after by legions of collectors. Here is one in the prefect

grade, AU-58, just enough wear to confirm circulation, but

retaining virtually all of the original appeal of a mint state coin.

Destined for an advanced collection and an important offering!

PCGS graded MS-66

. A lovely gem example of

this key-date issue. The satiny lustrous surfaces exhibit del-

icate light golden toning with hints of irridescense and teal.

Amazing quality for this key date issue, and one to com-

mand strong respect! The surfaces are virtually perfect,

along with the blazing luster and bold strike. A few thin die

cracks are noted around the periphery, common to this

prized date and mint.

Pop 28; 6 finer with 3 in 66+, 3

NGC graded AU-58

. Popular key date. Well struck and

lightly toned. Toning streak on the face and a matching swath

of gold on the right reverse rim. Traces of luster exist in the pro-

tected areas and handsome overall.
