brilliant uncirculated, host coin date 1871 clearly visible on the reverse.

mountains, date below. Rev. Value. Small edge knock at 5 o’clock on the reverse, otherwise as struck.

Furrer Hastedt & Co. is the oldest know “Farm Token” (dated 1854) and was minted in denominations of ½, 1 and 2.
Although reputed to be the year of minting, the date on it could also be the date of commencement of operations of the
company or foundation, because in those years they were just beginning to develop coffee growing in the country.
