2398 Moskowitz, Ira " Torah II Series". (1912-2001) Painter
and master print maker. Moskowitz devoted much of his life
to the production of Judaic art.
A suite of thirteen Original Handcolored Etchings illustrating
Torah; pulled at Bank Street Atelier, New York City, by Emil-
iano Sorini; text printed by Fequet et Baudier, Typography
and Design, by Aline Elmayan, Paris, France; all signed on
lower right border, in pencil; all numbered: 28/120 lower
left border, in pencil; on white Arches paper; image:15 x
17½", with border: 29 x 20½"; August 1970; all thirteen
contained in a cloth covered presentation box.
Etchings include: " Sounding the Shofar," " Zot ha Torah,"
" Sabbath of Genesis," " Sanctification of the Sabbath," " The
Belze Rebbe," " Baroque Synagogue," Man at Prayer," " The
Lulav," " Meditation, Bukharian Synagogue," " Prayer and
Meditation," " Talmud Torah," " Discussing the Talmud I,"
and " Discussing the Talmud II." This is an exceptional pre-
sentation, as most of the Moskowitz etching series are sel-
dom found intact. Excellent condition.
