PCGS graded MS-64 PQ
. A lovely coin. Strikingly
beautiful rolling-fresh finish, bright as when first issued,
awash in originality, the golden hue includes a light peach
accent to the golden sparkle. Difficult to find, the most
often seen dates in this series are the far commoner 1901,
1901-S and 1902-S. Dates in the 1880s, by comparison,
rarely seem to be this outstanding. Both the peripheries
and the central reverse are detailed and close to 100%
crisp for their sharpness of strike. This includes the stars,
which is a forceful reminder in a coin from the Philadelphia
mint that it is quality that counts.

. Well struck, frosty and
untoned. Creamy gold surfaces eddy and churn with almost
"frothy" luster. Only a few widely spaced marks on the neck,
below the scroll, and elsewhere. Definitely Premium for this
grade.

. Well struck with nice
light golden toning. There is a minor chattermark at Lib-
erty's cheek. The mostly reddish to pale honey-gold sur-
faces display modest, yet pleasing cartwheel luster effects
as one views the coin under the light.
