. S.5731. James VIII of Scot-
land (The Old Pretender), struck in silver by Matthew Young
(c.1828) from dies prepared by the engraver Roettier. Plain
edge. Laureate and draped bust facing right. Reverse: Crowned
shield of arms. Richly toned example. Absolutely as struck it
exhibits small rust marks-typical of all known examples and is a
testimony to its authenticity.
