. Housed in

an Old Green Holder and one of the great classics of the

Saint-Gaudens series. These are the closet to the original

concept of the great artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens that

most collectors can pursue as the Ultra High Relief coins

are well beyond all but the largest numismatic budgets.

Finding a near gem like this is truly a delight, with its radi-

ant luster, incredible three dimensional devices and nearly

an ounce of gold in heft, creates a winning combination

that simply has never been topped by any other coin design

in the opinion of many numismatists. Outstanding surfaces,

rich gold color and of course the towering strike all combine

to make a memorable coin, especially when found this nice.

PCGS graded AU-58+

. A classic gently touched example

of the famed High Relief design. This one probably never

circulated, but was simply admired so many times in the

past 109 years that it has a hint of wear on the delicate

high points of the design. Surface quality remains attractive

and pleasing to the eye, and this is a coin that any collector

will long be proud of. Perfect as well for the "Everyman" set

at this ultimate grade level! (

. A lovely example of

this ever popular issue. The fields and devices are much

nicer than one expects to find for the grade assigned, as

even a few stray marks tend to discount the grade quickly

on these High Relief coins. Of crourse the strike is bold

throughout, right up to the eagle' s wing edge and Liberty'

s raised knee. Deserving to be our most popular coin ever

struck, not only for its evident beauty but for its epic strug-

gle to be produced at all. If you have always wanted to own

one of these, this auction provides you with an opportunity

to pick up a majestic example with a variety of grades to

choose from. (
