the first coins struck in Australia. The centered cut or
'Dump'from the Spanish Dollar (Holey Dollar) was valued at
15 pence, the Dollar had a value of 5 Shillings. The cost of
40,000 Spanish dollars by the Australian government was 4
shillings 9 pence, leaving a profit of 1 shilling sixpence on
each Spanish dollar. Very few examples remain in existence
today. Very Rare.
