The Siege of Danzig took place between 1655 and 1660 during the Second Northern War and the Haupt Fortress had been
captured by the Swedish in 1657. This medal celebrates its recapture 22 December 1659.

and also not to enter into future treaties with the Turks. The pact was highly important in the Eastern European struggle against
Turkish Tartars as, by signing it, Russia joined the anti-Turkish coalition of Poland, the Holy Roman Empire and Venice.
An example with a silvered surface was sold in Baldwin’s Auction 87, lot 1870, for £7440.
