The inscription on this extremely rare issue was probably meant to read “King of Kings Arsaces, Gotarzes, Who is Called (or
Nicknamed) Son of Artabanus”. However, the occasion for the minting of such an unusual output with the personal name of the
reigning king and his “filial” association with Artabanus IV is unknown
.
