Israel, The Seven Species Portrayed on Ancient Judaean
Coins
. The Israel Government Coins and Medals Corp. repro-
duced seven Judaean coins, 2 in silver (Shekel with pomegran-
ates and Yehud coin with olive sprig), and 5 in bronze (King
Agrippa with 3 ears of wheat, Prefect Coponius with barley, First
Revolt with grape vine leaf, Colony of Ptolemais with fig tree,
and Bar Kochba with grape vine leaf). Each is 27mm and the
collection is handsomely framed.

Israel, Collection of 11 Boris Schatz Medals in Frame
.
Boris Schatz (1867-1932) was a Lithuanian Jewish artist and
sculptor who settled in Palestine, where he founded the Bezalel
School in Jerusalem. He produced a number of large bas reliefs
and also smaller medals with Jewish themes. This handsomely
framed collection of 11 silver-plated bronze medals includes
Herzl, Jewish Scribe, Shofar Blower, Jeremiah, etc. Medals are
various sizes, averaging about 50 x 65mm. Schatz is very col-
lectible.
