INVS AVGVSTVS, laureate and cuirassed bust
of Caracalla right, slight drapery on far shoulder,
breastplate decorated with small aegis.
Reverse:
VIRT AVGG, Virtus standing facing, head left,
holding Victory and inverted spear. RIC -; BMC
-; RSC 664b. Scarce. Fine style, virtually as struck
and lustrous.
Nearly Mint State.
A remarkable bust type for the young Cara-
calla, noted only for this issue from Laodi-
cea (see Hess-Leu 41, 24 April 1969, 313).
